'''Afrisa International''' was the orchestra led by [[Tabu Ley Rochereau]]. It grew out of African Fiesta, which Tabu Ley had co-founded with [[Dr Nico]] in 1963, and by the 1970s had become one of the most successful bands in Africa. Afrisa modernised the rumba sound and launched the career of the singer [[Mbilia Bel]], the first female superstar of the genre.
